Down Syndrome

Posted by Pamela

I am wondering if the information here could be applied to children with Down's Syndrome. My son, age 5 was born with Down's Syndrome and we will be attempting to mainstream him into a part time curriculum at our local elementary kindergarten program. His attention span is very short but he is extremely intelligent (I could be biased), and he is also very low on the verbal scale however he does know enough sign language to let his needs and wants be known. For anyone who has had a special needs child, I would appreciate any advice you could render to me.
Thank you for listening.
