Stuttering and ADHD

Posted by Karen Phinney

Is there any concrete information out there or any parent that may be able to shed some light on the stuttering and ADHD. My son is ADHD and stutters. Everytime we change his medicine, I would get a day or 3 days of NO stuttering, but it does not stay that way. I read on one of the internet web pages that a mother switched to the new medicine Adderal and he quit stuttering........Is there anyone out there that can comment on this?

Also, I was told Adderal helps with the comprehension and "retaining" the information they have read. My son flunks every Chapter test even when he studies and also flunked an open book test, because the wording was not the same.

He has been test(IEP) and of course he scored average in the comprehension section

Please help ASAP!
thanks,
Karen
