Hi, I am kind of new to all of this. My 9 yr old son has a chiari malformation. He has been very sick and has undergone many tests to find the proper diagnosis and now treatment which my include surgery in the very near future. He suffers from severe headaches, incontinence, incoordination, memory loss, and blurred vision. I have requested help from his school concerning his education and all I ever get is they dont' know what I want them to do. Duh! Help the child! Well anyhow, I finally realized I needed to ask for an IEP which at first I was denied but then when I asked for the denial in writing he quickly changed his mind and said they would write an IEP. However, they won't even tell me what interventions they would recommend. So I am looking for some help in this area. I know ther have got to be other kids who are struggling with medical issues but I'm not sure what is reasonable to ask. Can someone help me with this? Lisa
